resource My latest Huffington Post essay (“Dear Wendy Davis: Please Stop Talking about Your ‘Story'”) began as a Facebook entry. I was composing it in my head in the bathroom, as I was brushing my teeth on a Sunday morning. And then I decided to see, just for the heck of it, how much further could I embroider the idea. Could I develop it into an essay? I agreed (with myself) to just sit down at the computer and write. If nothing happened, so be it. No writing practice is ever lost. A few hours later, I completed a strong draft. It was an important reminder to myself: Writing is how I think. It’s not the artifact of my thought.
